The police station in Les Mureaux (40 miles west of Paris), France, was a highly anticipated project and a ”national priority” on the list of future police stations. The previous police station was merely a family house when it was turned into offices for the local police, in 1983.
The new police station that was introduced in 2016 is designed by Ameller Dubois Architects. The building is topped with a two-storey-box, slightly offset from its base, and entirely adorned with an abstract decorative pattern in Graphic Concrete and laser iron engraving. The building stands at the heart of a diverse and evolving urban fabric, combining commercial buildings, places of worship, collective housing and pavilions.
